Have a question about Westonfence™ electric fencing, installation, or components?
We’ve compiled the most common queries from landholders, installers, and distributors to help you plan, build, and maintain the right fencing solution for your property.
What animals can I control with the Westonfence™ system?
We developed the Westonfence fencing system to control kangaroos and other invasive species like feral pigs on our own property at Nymagee.
It has since been used to exclude feral deer, feral pigs, wild dogs, goats and other invasive species.
In addition to this, Westonfence has a range of options to contain livestock such as sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, horses, etc.
Basically, our fencing system can be used to control most animals by changing the height, number of wires and electrification.
How far apart do you space steel posts and droppers?
Steel posts (star pickets) are required to support the fence, with every third dropper clipped to a steel post in regular installations.
In a standard installation we recommend spacing steel posts at 10m intervals with droppers spaced at 3.33m.
How do I attach droppers to different types of posts?
This shows some of the ways in which our droppers can be attached to different posts.
Is there an easier way to thread wire through the droppers?
This frame was manufactured to thread wire through the droppers. It ensures pre-drilled holes are lined up for ease of threading.
Droppers are kept upright for straining and use with the applicator.
Is there an easy way to keep the wires in position whilst straining up the fence?
This pipe and clip setup is easy to make and keeps the wires in position whilst straining up the fence.

How do I connect to a JVA IP Energiser®
The IP Energizer® is a Wi-Fi enabled electric fence energiser that can be monitored and controlled from anywhere.
To achieve this, the IP Energizer® connects to your home Wi-Fi network and from there to the Internet.
Controlling it is easy, simply download our IP Energiser Controller (IPEC) App, enter your IP Energiser’s unique password and start controlling and monitoring your fence.
What size Solar Panel & Battery do I need for my Energiser?
Solar Powered Electric Fences may require a battery to store electricity during the day to keep the fence powered when sunlight isn’t available … such as at night.
